Who Was Kenan Isik?
Kenan Isik was the son of a retired civil servant from the Turkish State Railways. He began his journey in amateur theater at the Malatya People’s House during his middle school years and continued his education at high school in Ankara, where he studied alongside Ulaş Bardakçı. During this period, he also joined the Meydan Theater. Isik graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Public Administration at Gazi University. In 1972, he became an artist at the State Theatres General Directorate.
Kenan Isik was also a beloved television host, known for hosting the Turkish version of the popular game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Initially, he took on this role at the suggestion of Osmantan Erkır when the show was known as “Who wants 500 thousand” He continued to host the show under its new name, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” becoming a fixture in Turkish television and a household name.
